“Hackcon is the reason I started organising my hackathon,” James Brooks’ sentiment is why we organize MLH Hackcon. “The sense of community between hackathon organisers that is demonstrated at Hackcon made me feel really comfortable about organising an event, as I felt I could ask anyone about their own experiences. Additionally, the incredible lineup of speakers left me with ample knowledge to start up my first hackathon.”

As the hacker movement continues to grow, we want to bring the experience of Hackcon to the greater organizer community. While MLH Hackcon’s flagship event outside of New York brings organizer experiences to a global audience from places as far India, Argentina, and Germany, through travel and scholarships; we’ve heard the demand to bring MLH Hackcon to a wider audience.

This year, we’re excited to announce two half-day virtual conferences, taking place October 5th and 6th– MLH Hackcon Digital.

These events will take organizers from around the world and give them the opportunity to share knowledge with each other through talks and discussions. This virtual conference expands the access to MLH Hackcon to organizers worldwide and those who couldn’t make it to our physical conference August 23rd — 25th.

Just before Local Hack Day: Learn, this conference will also give MLH Local Hack Day organizers the chance to talk about plans for their upcoming events.

Take part in MLH Hackcon Digital today, by registering for a ticket or signing up to host a watch party.

This virtual conference will replace MLH Hackcon Europe and other regional Hackcon events as a way for us to connect organizers. While MLH Hackcon Europe has been a great conference, we’ve decided to change the conference format to allow for more people to attend, as the largest reason organizers in Europe and beyond have not been able to attend has been the requirements of travel.
